Secretary of Public Security of Baja California Narrowly Escapes Death by Assassins

Manuel Díaz Lerma, the Secretary of Public Safety for Baja, California, narrowly escaped death last April when approximately 22 assassins attacked his van with AK-47 and AR-15 rifles along an approximate five block radius in Mexicali. The incident occurred when Diaz was traveling with his chauffeur in an armored Suburban, followed by another Suburban without armor carrying three bodyguards.
